Software Maintenance & Support
Softer Ingenuity was retained to provide software maintenance and support services for a community college that relies on custom applications developed by a company they no longer do business with. These applications are critical to the operations of several different departments within the college, including: Admissions, Residential Life, Human Resources, the Registrar, and Financial Aid. The applications were developed in Java, JSP and PL/SQL, use the Apache Struts framework and an Oracle database. The applications share data with the school's student record system, Banner and integrate with Banner's web security.
Softer Ingenuity's services include, diagnosis and problem resolution, upgrade assistance, revision control using Subversion. Softer Ingenuity maintains a bug tracking database that is accessible to members of the client's IT department and provides response times for four severity levels of problem reports.
